IOP – Intensive Outpatient Program
Excel BHS Behavioral Health Services (Excel BHS) provides addiction and co-occurring disorder treatment through its Mesa, Arizona Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). An intensive outpatient level of care consists of at least 3 hours of treatment three days per week. Excel’s BHS IOP bundles a variety of outpatient treatment services and provide structured programming while maintaining the ability to customize care.
These programs meet the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s (ASAM) level 2.1 criteria for IOP services. When people are in need of a structured setting in which to work toward overcoming symptoms of substance use issues, they may benefit from participating in an intensive outpatient program (IOP).
Many people suffering from a substance use disorder can’t afford to stay away from work or school for extended periods of time in order to receive addiction treatment in a residential setting. If appropriate, intensive outpatient services give those patients the flexibility to maintain their professional or academic schedules to a large degree while in treatment.
Our IOP is offered 3, 4, or 5 days a week. Services are provided during the day as well as in the evening. Our team works with each patient to ensure that the schedule of treatment services is offered that works with each person’s personal and professional schedule.
Excel’s Intensive Outpatient Program gives patients more flexibility to
maintain their household responsibilities while stabilizing their recovery. Patients may have children that require their supervision and care.
An IOP also gives patients the opportunity to practice the strategies they learn in treatment right away. Putting their newly acquired coping skills into
practice outside of the therapy environment helps them strengthen these techniques and incorporate them into their daily life.
Excel provides IOP treatment for addiction and co-occurring mental health
disorders to patients who live in the Maricopa County area, and other Arizona counties.
